It was good stylistically but it wasn’t a complete home run whatsoever as many people seem to be saying. The movie itself was VERY slow, yet again. While part one was expected to be slow due to world building, it was painful to watch the Paul/Chani part take up nearly 2 hours of this movie, filled with lots of furtive glances and weird stares at each other. Pointedly said, the first half of the movie was boring. There were also some very odd style choices with how they did the film. The Harkonnens looked like complete rip-offs of the Engineers from Alien Prometheus/Covenant (in fact I thought they were the same), and it was odd not having Alia (the baby) being born but instead have all these weird baby fetus shots which were jarring and out of place. The climax fight was pretty anti climatic as they changed how things happened from the book and despite everyone fawning over Feyd-Rautha I personally found him very cartoonishly villainous and not actually to be that much of a great villain, the baron was far better in my opinion. As a massive Dune book fan, this was definitely the best book adaptation they’ve done, and the Zimmer sound score was unbelievable. But it’s not even remotely a 5/5 movie for me, and I probably wouldn’t watch it again without fast forwarding the entire first half of the movie.

This movie is barely even The Little Mermaid. All the race swapping and cultural appropriation aside, they added so much extra stuff into the story that completely ruins the narrative and makes it a completely different film. Also the lyric changes, the awful cgi in parts of Sebastian, the way they made Flounder look like a dead piece of seaweed, and the extremely unnecessary darkness (literally dark screen) of the move made it dreary and in enjoyable. Ariel can sing and has a great voice, but her acting is awful and there was no chemistry with Prince Eric who for some inexplicable reason all of a sudden has a bi-racial family and is adopted. It’s really not very good. By the music album, skip the rest

Finally watched this because of people raving about ‘how good it was’. Found it to be pretty boring tbh, and mostly just a “white people are all racist and black people are amazing” movie. Race baiting is a hard pass for me, would rate 0 stars if I could .

Finally a movie about deaf individuals, played by actual deaf people, in which they are not reduced to a plot device, tragically killed, or portrayed as monsters, serial killers, or disfigured humans. The first and only movie since Children of a Lesser God in which a deaf individual is seen as being sexually desirable and their life experience normalized in everyday activity. First deaf male actor to win an award which is long overdue. A step forward for representation of disability in film which is severely lacking in Hollywood comparing to other minority groups such as BIPOC and LGBT representation (which is good as well). 100% deserving of the awards it won, though it is unfortunate that selfish Will Smith made all of the headlines during the Oscar’s instead of the focus which should have been on CODA and it’s cast and crew. Watch this movie !

This movie is downright offensive to people with disabilities. Essentially, people with disabilities are only capable of being loved (and loving) fish and/or monsters because nobody else will bang them. Filled with wondrous politically correct token characters such as: token gay friend, token black woman, token white male supremacist bad guy…and topped off with the horribly offensive token “dream sequence” in which the individual with a disability dreams she is “perfectly normal”…because heaven forbid you have a disability and are completely happy, sexually desirable, and in a “normal” loving relationship. Caters to able bodied people in order to make them feel better about themselves and features bestiality and sex with a fish. 0/10 would not recommend unless you have a bestiality fetish
