Forbidden Homeland is about a modern day experience from the diaspora. The Armenian Genocide by the Turks in 1918 continues for 108 years to go unrecognized.
This author shares her family’s story, which follows them from their relocation to the Syrian/Lebanon countries after the Genocide until they relocate snd finally settle in California around 1970, during the Middle East wars.
The author’s story is in first person, which is different from many other Armenian Genicide survival stories. Her family experienced two wars and survived. She also connects the past and the present in an amazing series of events. Katia’s historical narrative is both educational and timely.
Well written.
