This book was chosen by our book club. I’m so glad it was because I absolutely loved it! Not at first I have to say, I struggled at the beginning but once I got into the flow and speeded up my reading and read it with an Irish accent I really got into it. People from the North speak fast !
I’m sad to say I was the only one in the book club of 12 that finished the book. I feel sorry that they didn’t like it. I do wonder if you have to have an Irish connection to get it?
After reading this book I really feel that I understand what it was like to live during that time. It’s the most insightful book I’ve ever read about the ‘Troubles’. (Such an understated word to describe such an horrific time)
What happened to the dogs. Please don’t let this be true!
Children will always be children, loved wee sisters.
Brilliant book, thank you Anna Burns.
