I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could enjoy this slop. I mean the childish humor alone could kill you. It's like the show is written for late teens to very early twenty year olds. There is a reason why for many years I hardly watched network TV shows. One thing this show is good for and that's as a background while eating dinner (live alone), glancing at the screen every minute or two with my food taking most of my attention. Oh and you can see that the scenes sprinkled throughout of scantily clad beautiful women are done to keep the male audience coming back for more.

I'm going to try to avoid giving any spoilers. Overall I liked the show, I thought it was well acted and well written. However at the end of the last episode of the season you are left with a huge cliff hanger. That's something that is infuriating for me. Having to wait for a year or as is often the case these days, up to two years before the next season comes out, it diminishes the entire season for me. Add to this, the role of Blythe the commander or leader of the task force is played by Eric Danes who you might have heard was just diagnosed with ALS in real life. Regardless of the show I wish well for him personally. So not sure the show will be continued. Though Dane's character plays a stoic type of hardened law enforcement guy, he's not really a main character. If he can't return, I think his character can be written out of the show and replaced by a new one without much effect. I'd have given this possibly 5 stars for a TV show and certainly a solid 4. But due to the way they left it, I'm being generous giving it 3.

To save time, I'm partially pasting from another reviewer here as he covers much of what I would have said in my own words anyway. " ...it was a disaster and far from a comedy. It was a dark very liberal script and not funny at all. The movie starts with a scene with a boy wanting to dress as a girl, a little boy that couldn't be older than 8 years old. And it's unclear whether Lily Tomlin's character introduces him to the idea or if he came up with it on his own. There proceeded to be constant LBGTQ references and a woman played by Jane Fonda who had so much hate and disgust for a grievous physical assault (I don't want to use the word for it that might strike this comment) that happened 46 years ago that she was willing to kill her attacker. It's never explained why she left her then husband with no explanation back then. The Lily Tomlin character also has a grievance against this man yet hers is simply over the man being married to her female lover for so many years which prevented her from having a relationship with her. The ending portrays these two women as just about dancing and celebrating an accidental death. I mean this was just pure woke rubbish.

Just finished watching all episodes and I really like the show. So much that it's disappointing that there's only 6 episodes. Surely they wrote the last episode with a series return in mind. The ending leaves a good bit to be desired but the overall show was so good that it can be forgiven. Don;t want to give up any spoilers but I'll just say IMO, Rebecca though really confused and struggles with her loyalties, will be shown to be loyal towards her dad and new family. Hope they do another longer season. Easily 4 stars for this show.

Just watched this included with my Disney plan. No way I'd be happy paying for this to see at a theater or even a streaming rental for that matter. In no way is this going to replace the Avengers. It's like Disney/Marvel cannot get their creative/wiring teams to come up with a successor to the original Avengers. I will say however that this was more watchable than Capt America Brave New World. They are clumsily trying to tie this Avenger storyline in with the old Avenger one and it mostly falls flat. What they should do is just burn the whole MCU to the ground, get rid of the multiverses and start fresh. And bring back as many of the old Avengers as possible. Starting with RD Jr as Ironman. I gave this a 3 star only because it wasn't terrible and was at least a bit better than Brave New World. Otherwise comparing this to the quality of characters, writing, storylines and graphics of the original Avenger movies, this earns no more than 2 1/2 stars.

Half hour in and had to turn off and here I am. You can see Willis just not able to say more than a few words at a time. Shows no emotion at all. It's obvious his condition started at least before this movie was made. The other actors are not believable. This is just not worth watching,

Watched this just now on Netflix. This was a disappointment. The comedy fell flat most of the time. Honestly Keaton is the only reason to watch the movie in it's entirety. And even then his character Beetlejuice, is just not as funny here. Even O'Hara could only do so much with the bad script they were given. If you can last through the boredom of the first 3/4 of the movie, the last part revives it a bit, but not enough to say this was a decent watch. I'm surprised Tim Burton would be associated with this lackluster, terribly written effort. When it became available as a rental last year I refrained from renting it and I'm glad I saved the 4 or 5 bucks.

As a believer in Jesus I watched the first 4 seasons with a keen eye for any veering off the Scriptural account of Jesus ministry. And Jenkins largely stuck to the "script" so to speak. Through the first couple of seasons there were some creative liberties taken but totally plausible, even if fictional and in almost no way were they contradictive of the Scriptures. I have always viewed The Chosen with the thought of "how does a non-believer watching The Chosen learn the basics about Jesus and then set them on a path to full acceptance once they attend a Bible based Christ centered Church. Starting with Thomas' back story which is totally fictitious, things started to become a real stretch and could at times confuse someone not familiar with the Bible. But for this season, 5, I have to say it seems to be done with not as much care for the storyline, including numerous flashbacks/some in B&W some in color and to the point it starts to become confusing even for me, someone fairly well versed in Scripture. I don't want to give any spoilers here but suffice it to say that last few episodes featured some minutes each of the Last Supper at different points in it. It also felt like Jenkins was drawing out and extending the show in order to make for another season. So the creative liberties have much increased. It seems The Chosen is becoming a show that is veering off its original intent/attempt of staying very close to Scripture. This is why the three stars. Hopefully in the next season it comes back closer to it's original form.

There's another review here by Paul San Miguel written about a week ago so mid June 2025. He perfectly said everything that I'm too lazy to type out myself. In a nutshell, that this show lasted 5 full 20 plus episode seasons is mindboggling. Storylines are repetitive, characters are mostly not believable and not consistently written for from one episode to the next. I've only watched till the19th episode of season 1. 4 more seasons of this boring soap opera-ish nonsense and I'd lose my mind. Like I said read Paul's review for a more in depth solid description. I would not have gotten this far if it weren't on Netflix. So, free. I watch it while eating dinner as a distraction. Ya know? Maybe this is why I've had indigestion lately.

This was absolute trash. Misery to watch. Miserable acting, writing, characters. Not funny at all. The gay guys were nauseating to watch, not just the acting but the physical interactions which were way too numerous. It seemed the producers/writers did all they could to showcase this, especially when there was little to none of this with the hetero couples. But that was the least of the show's shortcomings. The character Jack was irritating and just plain stupid. A depiction of a whiny moron. Carrell's acting was just not good but that was exacerbated by the poor writing. I cannot believe that Netflix went for a 2nd season of this slop.
