Transatlantic starts a bit slow but picks up quickly as a compelling period piece as Europe is at the precipice of WWII. The story is moving and the cinematography stunning as an international cast lead by a very effective Gillian Jacobs once the flighty Britta from Community, independent Mimi-Rose from Girls and the addicted and addictive wild girl Mickey Dobbs from Netflix’ Love, all show their acting chops here although some characters are more for show than substance.
