I've just watched this movie and really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of futuristic sci-fi movies and this one is one of the best I've seen in a long time.
The movie is set in the future around 2067 after an accident caused a nuclear bomb to destroy all of Los Angeles which is blamed on the artificial intelligence robots which then starts a war between them and humans.
This is a high-quality polished movie production and must have cost a fortune to make. It really is convincing in its future depiction of earth with advanced technology everywhere. It looks like the producers saved money on the actor budget using lesser known actors, in order to spend more on the special effects and movie production..a wise move for a sci-fi film. It's shot really well and has some incredible scenes and beautiful scenery in South East Asia.
The artificial intelligence humanoid robots are great. I have no idea how they managed to pull that off whether they're using computer simulation or graphics overlay, but they look very convincing.
The movie has an unusual story plot and is shown in story chapters similar to Star Wars.
For fans of sci-fi movies that offer a glimpse into what the not too distant future might be like on earth, this movie will be right up your alley. It has tons of neat gadgets and advanced technology in nearly every scene that will have you marvelling, pausing and replaying scenes. It's inspiring to watch for tech geeks like myself as you'll see loads of new technology that gives you ideas of how existing technology could be used or improved further.
The film reminded me a little bit of The Golden Child. With the little Asian child robot Alfie as one of the main characters. She is the link between humans and synthetic artificial intelligence and may be the only hope to end the conflict and bring peace on earth...or with her advanced powers she may be the greatest threat to mankind and destroy the human race completely..you'll have to watch the movie to find out which!
My only criticism of the movie is that the story plot could be better and is a little all over the place but aside from that it's very enjoyable to watch.
Just over 2 hours of sci-fi action-thriller edge of seat viewing.
