The first two thirds of this book was promising and I thought I’d found a great story to get stuck into. However, several things started to annoy me about it. My belief in the character Blythe; was she really so naive and forgiving? Dad, Fox Reminded me of We Need to Talk About Kevin, so unbelievably selfish and soft.
Violet had no redeeming qualities right through and yet the reader was supposed to have some empathy for the rejected child?
The last third of the book was stretched and by this time I just wanted them all to fall victim of the wicked girl!
