Been playing this game for a couple of months and I've very quickly realised how unfriendly it is to solo players. You are put at such a huge disadvantage when playing against 2 or more players it is basically impossible to get anywhere without getting griefed. The only advantage a sloop has against other ships is speed (when heading into the wind) but even then it is a minute difference and most players will just chase you to the edge of the map, where you will have no option but to go into the red sea or face the other ship. On top of that when playing on xbox the loading times are abismal, and put us at a huge disadvantage compared with our pc counterparts. Even without taking into account other players, the game is repetitive and boring, and there's an uncountable amount of glitches. The support is lackluster, and there's no defence at all against griefers. I've personally been put off the game completely, and I don't know how many others have been put off for the same reason but I wouldn't be surprised if that number is big. Sea of thieves act like they care so much about the player base, but care so little for the solo sloopers that it's honestly disgusting. They use the fact that you can have an open crew as an excuse, but most people really don't like playing with people they don't know and most the time people will just leave as soon as something bad happens. This game could be made so much better for people like me by simply adding a solo server, where only solo players play and the rewards are a bit smaller. The only good thing about the game is that no advantages can be bought using your doubloons or gold, instead it is all cosmetics which helps to keep things fair between the beginners in the game and the seasoned veterans.
But overall I feel the game requires a lot of balancing, and solo servers should definitely be a priority, especially after the most recent update which encourages players to hunt down other ships in order to obtain emissary rewards.
