If there is one book to read about the Battle of Britain, this is it. It is authoritative and well researched. It tells the story in a gripping and entertaining way whilst shooting a number of fallacies down that have grown up over the years. It diminishes the hagiography that has built up in Britain about the battle in recent times, but in no way diminishes the heroism and competence of the defenders. It also portrays very well the strengths and weaknesses of all sides. Top stuff!
