I loved The Woman King. The film is well written and acted. The plot is detailed and intense. The fight scenes are spectacular. I love the backstory and how it was interwoven into the storyline. It was wonderful to see people of my color and in various hues of my color deliver such a spectacular adaptation of the pre civil war era and slavery. The movie didn't give too much of the horrific ordeal of slavery but just enough to see how it impacted a particular area of Africa. And some decisions that were made as a result. Superb movie, dynamic cast, beautiful cinematography!
