"Chief of War" is a beautifully told story that deserves more credit than it's getting. While some viewers are complaining about the use of subtitles, that's no reason to dismiss the series. Subtitles help preserve and honor the authenticity of the language and culture. Even though not all of the cast are native to Hawai‘i (from Aotearoa), they show clear respect and dedication in learning and delivering the language with care. I truly appreciate the effort—and I can't wait for the next episode.*

Big fan of Chris Rock but not his best performance, more vulgar than what is expected of him, and the controversial topics he raised were more cringe-worthy than funny. There were great glimpses of the Chris Rock of old which I love but the buildup about the slap led to an anti-climatic ending and I didn't get the last joke which summed up the whole performance for me...confusing. I am still and will always be a fan and I look forward to his next production.

What started off as a potentially great story, ended just as bad as GOT S8. Very disappointing. Great cast terrible comical predictable end.
