Who doesn't love Pirates of the Caribbean?
First film is a classic, and a great milestone in cinema.
Dead Man's Chest maintains the action and adds a darker yet still enjoyable tone. Davy Jones is an awesome villain.
At World's End isn't quite as good as the previous entries, but it is definitely worth watching as the characters continue to capture my heart as well as produce a climactic showdown with Davy Jones.
On Stranger Tides is fine. It's enjoyable at its best moments, but I always thought of it as a spin-off rather than a part of the chronological franchise.
I had high hopes for Salazar's Revenge, and I was... disappointed.
Jack Sparrow's comedic yet heroic action scenes are gone, and his personality has been reduced to a dry old pirate.
Henry Turner is just annoying and the villain feels like a copy-and-paste of the villain in the first film.
The story was fine, but not as good as any of the other films, including On Stranger Tides.
To be honest, I wouldn't call it a good movie. It was an average movie that failed to live up to its predecessors.
Edit: after rewatching this film, I can now see many other glooming bad points in the storyline. The romance between two of the antagonists isn't well fleshed out at all, and feels like a carbon copy of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. Barbossa wasn't as good in this film either, his death feels unnecessary and confusing.
It's a 5/10, meaning its an average film with okay moments, lots of self-inflicted issues and occasional humour. Characters burned out, OGs feel wasted and people who think this movie is amazing clearly don't watch anything other than Disney movies.
