I read a review here from a person who did not care for anything about this book. I found that to be interesting. I read this book about 2yrs ago. There is hardly a day that goes by that I don’t think about this story and its powerful impact on my psyche. I am a prolific reader of many types of stories and novels and genres. This, by far, is the most impactful story I’ve read in 50yrs. Raw, entertaining, insightful, thrilling and suspense all the way until the end. Now, I may be a bit prejudiced since I live just East of the Zambales mountain range. Part II of this story describes an incredible part of our history and how war can and will impact EVERYONE. This novel can be appreciated on so many levels. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading. I just hope some day they make it into a film.
