So this is supposed to be in the Z Nation universe as they make several references to Black Summer on Z Nation. However it is nothing similar. Black Summer is basically a 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later knock off. The premise or plot is fairly interesting but they fail to execute in the show. They leave so many unanswered questions. How did the zombie virus start? What happened to the military? Where are they going? And there is no clear objective to where it is all going. This dystopian mystery thriller is filled with holes, however if you love zombies you can still get into the show. It's not all that good, but I've definitely seen worse. I give Black Summer 3 stars & a C+ for creativity, but I'm afraid that's the best I can do. Let's see if they come out with a 3rd season. Maybe that'll give us some justice.

I just recently finished watching. It was good enough for me to binge through it in 2 days. It's very well written & close to the realm of reality. It does have a lot of dialog but every episode has it's own set of problems, & the actors fit well in their characters. I think I my favorite character is the wife Wendy. I give this 4 stars because there's still 1 more season to go, so who knows it'll probably be even better.
