Fair and honest review. I know with sports games it can be hard to do new things every single year. Is this a roster update? Yes. They have changed a few things here and there but still the same game. I’m not mad at that. I’ve been playing this game since they allowed Xbox on and I keep feeling as if I’m grinding to get the same cards every year. Players like babe, trout, posada, etc. I also struggle with this years format. The set system makes you constantly grind and restart your team after every set is released. That’s fine, you get to try new cards and you see a lot of different line up builds. If you want the best of the best cards prepare to spend $100s of real world money or grind online against players constantly with the average game being about an hour. I prefer grinding but I also find the hours of grinding and playing the CPU on rookie on a loop gets pretty boring. I am a father that travels for work so grinding is off and on for me. A new set releases and I grind for a couple days, I leave for work and come back a couple weeks later to find all that grinding was kinda pointless because I have another week or so and then back to work. Rant over Long story short Game is fun but hard for people who don’t do this for a living. Playing against people who buy their teams and making your grind harder, and once you finally grind to get what you want you can’t use that card to much longer. This will be my last year playing mlb the show, if they had a diamond dynasty program that wasn’t so money hungry and online driven, they may have a fan once again
