With frequent plot twist summersaults, this show has a rather soap-opera-esque charm to it. While despite cliche tropes and over-used spy-movie concepts, it was actually moderately fun to watch.
That said, I didn’t feel compelled to keep watching it after the second episode, so I took a break of a few weeks to wait for the remaining episodes to be released so that I could watch them all at once.
The fact that I wasn’t dying to find out what happened next, was in fact a good thing, because then when the first season ended I wasn’t left with that horrible feeling you usually get when a season ends and you know you’ll have to wait 9 months or more to find out what happens next. In the case of this show, I didn’t get engaged enough by the somewhat dis-jointed plot to feel frustrated when the season ended.
I’ll nevertheless surely watch the next installments when they come out, along with the spin-offs. Citadel’s high production value, great casting and good acting make it worth watching, while it’s also actually nice to follow some shows that are enjoyable but in which I don’t feel too invested.
