Underrated film. Quality premise, smart script, satirical edge, plot hangs together well.

Decent premise but it’s so tame in terms of where it takes the plot. The serial killer mother connection was so cliched, also can’t you come up with a better name for a serial killer than “the Butcher”??? Usual fare with this director. He has novel ideas that unravel as the story unfolds. Hartnett played the role with some depth and subtlety though.
