They havenโt figured out that online PVP is a different game than offline P v Computer. They are still obsessed with โcardsโ, โperksโ, and โchallenges.โ Making the game little more than an attempt to both charge you for the game and the added expense of pay to play. Dynamic challenges are irrational and not inline with game play. In what world would a coach want you to just make contact or draw a walk when you are the number 1 home run hitter in the league? No way to max out attributes so the same paradoxical emphasis on โrealismโ persists. Essentially if you want to live their fantasy of what an mlb video game player should be, youโre fine; but if you want to live your fantasy of playing in the mlb, you have to wade threw tons of nonsensical missions that would get any manager fired, repetitive game play, and lackluster imagination. I think that may be the point. Ham handed grabs for money instead of focusing on making the game work for everyone. Difficulty is slightly easier than other versions but that is hardly the point. The show hasnโt done a thing for offline play since the ps2 era and every year they forget about me is another year I am reminded that this game has become a waste of money and time. My suggestion to them is to make a game everyone can enjoy in every mode, online and offline. Do that and the money will come. Donโt, and you may have some initial success but over the long run, player like me will just stop buying.
