Loved the movie. Watched the series on PBS and seeing this film was like reuniting with a group of old friends that I'd missed the past few years. House, costumes, cars, etc. all shown at their best. So glad all of the cast members agreed to appear in the film plus Imelda Staunton is a good addition and part of what could be a new story line should there be a subsequent film as the movie has a few openings for new stories of the Crawley's and their staff. Fans of the original series will not be disappointed --- they'll just want more.

Sweet story of an Indian family which after suffering the loss of their restaurant and wife/mother in a horrific fire decides to move first to the UK and then to France to open a restaurant. Ultimately they open their casual Indian cuisine restaurant directly across the road from a French haute cuisine restaurant owned by snobbish woman and conflict ensues. There is back and forth, the emergence of love between the the Indian chef son and the sous chef at the French restaurant as well as the father of the Indian family and owner of the French restaurant. Friendship and cooperation arrives and the film ends in an uplifting manner.

I first saw it as a six year old when it was shown and then I saw it a few times in later years as I was growing up. The music is thrilling and superbly matched to the action on screen. It tells the story of the US Navy during WWII -- fighting the war on two oceans and everywhere in between. It's an outstanding accomplishment.

Saw the film as college student at an art house theatre. Wonderful film then, and wonderful film now. The music in the film is timeless.

Lovely film. Peter Macdissi is absolutely charming as Walid who beautifully plays the soulmate of Paul Bettany's Frank -- loving him, caring for him, encouraging him to speak to his family about who he is etc. Bettany is powerful as Frank a man running away from his past and family while at the same time yearning to be embraced by them. Sophia Lillis is perfect as Beth -- Frank's niece who is growing up and learning harsh truths about the world and family. She's never too knowing but she is always aware. My only criticism of the film is the sound recording. I and another person with whom I watched this film at times found the sound to be too low and we found it to be that way on three different televisions so it wasn't the TVs it was the sound on the film. Overall -- the entire cast was very good.
