I’m a big huge Star Wars fan and love the movies and shows. I feel like it’s a franchise that is well known for having memorable characters and clear tones. This series was created by Disney and aired on Disney XD which is marketed I think for 8-10 year olds, which I am not. I still have it a shot. I began season one and introduced myself to Ezra, a character that holds the plot back more than Jar Jar Binks could ever hope to. All of the episodes could only be described as “shenanigans” from the rebels. The Empire was a complete farce. I watched the whole show, and forgot it all immediately after. The Ghost crew are exactly that - ghosts. This is the most forgettable and vanilla Star Wars you will ever find. Bare landscapes and characters inhabit all of the scenes. The battles usually end with people getting knocked out instead of killed. The writing is actually kind of insulting, maybe even for that 8-10 year old demographic I mentioned earlier. I’m not sure why there are so many positive reviews for this. Thrawn, Maul, Ashoka - these are some powerful characters that adults are familiar with. Please stop endorsing canon material that is this bare and spiritless from Disney. I’m not saying I know what’s best for Star Wars, but I really, really love it and I feel like the Galaxy Far, Far Away shouldn’t be this mediocre. It should be a difficult place that teaches our characters something. Ezra never goes anywhere. Sorry for the long review, but this show just was not entertaining, with uninspired new characters and confusing tones that will leave older viewers disappointed.
