Bellicus is a durable hero and an enduring one. I enjoyed the subtle psychology with which McKay endows his protagonist as a professional druid. At times it seems to be just ancient "kidology" and sometimes a bit more. By making mistakes and feeling lost, Bellicus seems very believable as the central character. I look forward to reading The Northern Throne. As a published children's author I find, the use of Amazon as a path to market, rather than traditional agents and publishers intriguing.
