It is NOT for fans that follow the source material. The actors can only do so much with poor writing, but I'll continue watching to see if the noncanonical story has anything more to offer for the characters. I'm hoping for a better arc because the UNSC politics about put me to sleep. As for the action, it is fun to watch. There are a few easter eggs even if one of them made me roll my eyes out loud.
