It was my first time watching a Cirque du Soleil performance and while having no prior experience in similar performances, I would definitely not recommend Corteo. I am sure that the artists participating in the performance are masters of their subject and have exceptional skills but the performance overall was average at best. It had a lot of theatrical elements, fact that you do not expect in a Circus play and although this might have been a great addition, using Italian as the main language, made it very hard to follow. The humour was very subpar and cringe and costumes and the overall performance left me unimpressed. I had much higher expectations and felt very disappointed. The price also of the fair does not justify at all the whole experience. Next time I will definitely read the reviews before visiting such a play again and I definitely advice you to do likewise!:)
