Jessie Lopez – Google

I was kind of reluctant to start watching this show. I was in a Kdrama slump. I couldn't make myself become invested in a show. I watched the first episode on a road trip and I've been obsessed with it ever since. At first I thought it was your typical Kdrama plot. The ML is a rich CEO and fell for the FL who was a broke girl. It took me a while to realize that she wasn't broke and actually had a good job and lifestyle, and that he was basically a useless heir. I like how they didn't waste a lot of time showing her get promoted throughout the years and instead just jumped right into the story. Instead of the FL being a pathetic emotional pushover, she was opinionated and good at her job. And unlike most FLs, she wasn't dramatic about the MLs advances on her. She had realistic and sometimes blunt reactions which added to the humor of the story. She's struggling emotionally, but she doesn't make it her whole personality. Her actress portrayed the character very well, giving the right amount of emotion in dramatic scenes and the right amount of emotion in comedic scenes. The ML is also the most surprising character in my opinion. Usually, the MLs are sophisticated men who take their job very seriously and let it sometimes affect their love life. Gu won is the complete opposite. He lets his love life affect his work life. He's unsure of himself but determined to win her over. He's low-key childish and immature, but that's what adds to the humor. The way his actor portrays his character makes the story even better. He looks like a scary, serious guy. But when he opens his mouth, you're proven wrong. It's the perfect amount of drama and humor. If you like cringing from second hand embarrassment and laughing and squealing when the story reaches its climax, this drama's for you. This show is not meant to be taken seriously, so don't. Also, don't hate on the entire show and it's actors for the writers mistake.
