From the moment I heard about the series' release date, my excitement could not be contained. I assumed that if it was anything like the first original series, I would be in for wonderful ride. The setting is still this dark and melancholic era where the Christian Church still exudes its power and influence though as powerfully as in the first series. My only concern is the main antagonist being very poorly designed. First of all, their appearance is laughable and honestly not threatening at all. While its motives are interesting, I find the lore behind it quite lacking. The magic in the series is more spread out and interesting, seeing stuff from voodoo as well as conjuration and much more. All in all, a wonderful experience for those aching for some more Castlevania and good animation.
