EDIT: After playing the game more, I've grown fond of the characters and the other parts of the game play. I still avoid fighting in this game by taking taxis everywhere - I really don't find this fight system fun at all. However, everything else about this game is very entertaining.
Changed my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I don't mind JRPG's at all, I really like them in fact. But the fun thing about the Yakuza games was the free form fighting where you can choose to pick up objects to fight with or do super fun finishing moves depending on what you had in your hands and what objects, walls, rails, or bridge you were next to. And if you didn't react quick enough, you'd get beat down super quick. Taking that away made the gameplay pretty boring. Now that you can take as long as you want to decide how you want to attack, and even set it to Auto-Battle, makes it pretty lame. And being able to inflict Status Ailments and being able to Summon really took away from Yakuza feel and fun. Also, the game's obsession with "Look, I'm a Real Life Dragon Quest Game" gets super old super quick. I'm just rushing through it for the story.
