I absolutely LOVE this show. Very underrated. The show itself is very funny. The show's humor often revolves around innuendos and stereotypical jokes, which while some people dislike, I think it's funny. I'll admit, sometimes the jokes do get a bit overused, but they're always funny and will make you laugh every time.
While the show was controversial for some of it's jokes involving racial stereotypes, I think that the jokes are just supposed to be taken light heatedly and make you laugh. Keep in mind, they're just jokes. They don't reflect the opinions of the cast members or writers themselves, they're just there to make you laugh. The show is mostly criticized for it's stereotypical jokes involving Han, one of the main characters who is Asian. It's perfectly reasonable to not like those types of jokes, however, Matthew Moy, the actor who plays Han was perfectly ok with the jokes, so I don't think you should take offense to them. And if those jokes aren't your cup of tea, it's totally understandable, but don't let them offend you, because they aren't intended to do so.
All jokes aside, the show also has a great message in it about how money doesn't always buy happiness, and how times can be tough, but as long as you have a friend there by your side, you can get through tough times. The show also demonstrates how even two people completely different from each other can become friends.
I think that this show can also be quite relatable at times. Lots of young people who don't have a lot of money can relate to Max and Caroline's struggles.
In summary, if you're looking for a show that's funny and satirical, while also being serious and relatable at the same time, I'd definitely recommend 2 broke girls, as long as you can handle the offensive jokes.
