Sat through 3 hours of a musical appearing as a Harry Potter/wizard of oz without the characters. The actors and actresses were good but everyone fell asleep watching. It is way to long and the plot was not clear.

This movie is a beautiful love story. It was refreshing to see a romance between two women. Minus a star after hearing the banter from the actresses Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara in regards to homosexuality. The film did not present as homosexual. It appeared that in the movie "Carol", two people fell in love and the couple are women. Clearly 1950's was not a progressive time for this type of relationship, however, these actresses were remarkable in expressing passion and insatiable desire.
