Incredible film-making! What extraordinary vision by director Terri Gilliam! This movie answers the following questions: Should I trust modern technology? Do I recognize that "information" can become distorted beyond recognition? Do I trust the government with my personal information? Even though this film flopped at the box office in 1985, it's very clear (to me anyway) that Gilliam is a genius. I'm pretty sure that it's become a cult classic since that time, with more and more people (like me) realizing that there is always a price to pay - even for our privacy.

Wow! This movie blew my socks off! I knew in advance it would be a good one. I think it goes without saying that no film studio would attempt to create the Elton John story without a lot of research into his youth & adolescent years. The acting is flawless, characters are interesting and attention to detail is visible throughout. It's big, bold and beautifully crafted film that will thrill Elton fans and generate a lot of curiosity about this living legend for generations to come. Bring lots of tissue paper, because there are scenes depicting his father (and to a lesser degree his mother) as cold and distant people caught up in the day-to-day madness of this world that we know all too well. 5 out of 5 Stars.
