Maddy

The protagonist begins the movie as an angsty teenager in a woman’s body, who lacks any empathy but somehow is working as an EMS. They tried to make her an untouchable enigma yet all the plot points were extremely forced. She is at a baby shower and for some reason they ask everyone to share a personal experience with their mom. She then gets to casually reveal that her mother died during childbirth and she is an orphan. I found it difficult to stomach and I had to force my attention with a motivation other than marveling at how terribly predictable it was written.
