**Spoilers**
This was my introduction to Fern Michaels. It was not a good first impression. After so many raves about her, it felt like i was being pranked if I'm being honest.
This entire main story takes place over the course of FOUR DAYS. Alison didn't trust anyone her entire life, yet somehow had so much trust in a mother daughter duo upon meeting not even 24hrs after she was drugged by a motel owner, that she almost instantly considers them lifelong friends. They and the dollar store employee were almost too nice. Like, hallmark movie nice.
Alison is so sure a man is stalking her, yet within the next chapter of his introduction, she fully trusts him, and then naturally she has feelings and is "in love" with him before the end of the book.
Over the course of FOUR DAYS.
There was so much repetitive reading. I might be exaggerating, but I think I read "all that matters is that Renee is safe" about 15 times in less than two chapters. It was obvious that majority of the pages were filler.
I bought another Fern Michaels book before I started this. But now it will be at the bottom of my reading list because of the monstrosity of Fear Thy Neighbor.
