Gosh I love Charlie Day (big IASIP fan), and the cast was incredible… but…
It felt so odd and disjointed. Like a school kid writing a movie for homework. It’s not quite “there”? I think having the main character mute was a mistake, albeit the plot, it felt like watching a person try to be funny but they’ve been gagged. Or juggle with one hand behind their back.
Having the movie about the hollywood film industry… it felt like there were in jokes and nods to things I had no clue about. I imagine Day has got another screen play in him, just perhaps not anything Hollywood related.
