It’s a cracking read. Exhilarating and page turning. My only gripe is why add the snarky modern judgement on history? (Well i know why.. it’s so a reader can feel more comfortable reading the uncomfortable truths of history). But give a reader some credit. History was bad. I get it. Hardly anyone in any time lives up to our ideals now. But the strong moral voice really takes a reader out the immersive experience when it happens.
