Zero Dark Thirty

A harrowing watch...and never has a drama series made me feel so angry and sad...and the ending just made me weep. I never realised what these poor people and their families actually went through at the time of this scandal. This drama was so well put together, it made you feel like you knew all the victims and could connect with them.Toby Jones was absolutely brilliant as Alan Bates.I highly recommend this drama (4 hours watching time in total) even if you aren't aware of the Post Office Horizon scandal...it will open your eyes and shock you.

I've watched this film several times when I'm having some "me" time with a bottle if wine and some chocolate for company,it never fails to have me in floods of years at the departure scene when Francesca is with her husband in the truck in town in the pouring rain and Robert's truck is in front of them at the traffic lights and she has her hand on the door handle.....I scream every time.....just do it....open the door and get out and go to the man you really love and want.....Meryl Streep's and Clint Eastwood's acting is erotic,loving and gentle....the other scene that grabs me by the heart strings is when Francesca is laying in the bath after Robert has showered and she says she feels erotic and like a different women!!!! This may not be a film for everyone but if you feel like you just need a good love story and a good cry then watch this film.....superb acting and directing.....it stays on my mind for days after I have watched it and I can't wait for the next "me" time to watch it again!!!!!

"Anne" was a truly heartbreaking series...I cried at all four episodes,it was very well acted and portrayed by all those who act in it,Anne was a very strong,courageous and determined mother who fought all the way for the correct justice and verdict after losing her 15 year old son Kevin at Hillsborough...and after 23 harrowing painful years the verdict was finally changed from "accidental death" to "unlawful killing".This is well worth watching,whether you are a footie fan or not.One of the best things I've watched in a very long time...Thanks ITV and congratulations to all those involved in making the series!!

This 3 part series about the serial killer Dennis Nilsen played superbly by David Tennant had me riveted after the first 5 minutes...I loved it...but then I do love anything gruesome and scary...I've always got some kind of true crime book or horror story in my hand!!(I read "Killing For Company" many years ago) There was some graphic details about his murders and some strong language..and...yes! lots of smoking by lots of people...but this didn't make the programme unwatchable for me.I know some people have complained about the programme but to be honest you always have choices....turn the TV off or change it to a different channel...you're never forced to watch anything you feel uncomfortable with....it is about a notorious serial killer so be warned..there are some parts and scenes that some people may find disturbing...all in all 10 out of 10 for me... for the great story line and the fantastic acting by Tennant,Watkins and Mays...what a team!!! This will stay with you for a long time.

I waited until all the episodes were on catch up TV then I watched them all over 2 evenings...Oh Boy! I found this real life drama about Jeremy Bamber and the murders of 5 of his family members absolute riveting stuff...I just couldn't pull myself away from it,I had to find out what happened...and fast!!! The acting was fantastic by all the actors and the story line was not boring at all....sometimes graphic and some scenes may shock some viewers?? My congratulations go out to all the police officers who finally saw through Jeremy Bamber and also to his ex girlfriend who had the courage to come forward and tell the police all that she knew,which led to him getting what he deserved for slaying in cold blood...his parents,sister and 2 beautiful 6 year old twin boys....long may he rot behind bars!!! I'm now going to read the books about this crime as they sometimes go into more detail? I would recommend this series if you like true life crime stories,but give yourself plenty of time as there are 6 episodes each at 60 minutes long.

Wow Oh Wow....Thank you so much BBC for making something worth watching,this was one of the best programmes I've watched in a long long time.Claes Bang and Dolly Wells both deserve an award for their performances....I downloaded all three episodes on iplayer with the intention of watching them over three nights... but boy oh boy....I couldn't tear myself away from it and ended up watching them all in one sitting....4.5 hours of sheer joy!!! The acting was fantastic....the story line suberb....the humour funny....the gore gory....the blood bloody....if Dracula was that sexy and drop dead gorgeous he's welcome to bite my neck any night of the week!!!! If you like blood more blood and even more blood,gore...lots of it and horror at it's best (it made me jump a few times) then this is most definitely one for you....but be warned some of the scenes are not for the faint hearted...take my advice...lock yourself in,get nice and cosy...open a nice bottle of claret and a big bar of dark chocolate....sit back and enjoy... you're in for one mighty treat!!!! I'm sure you'll say "fangs" very much for recommending it,after you've watched it!!!!

A very sad,upsetting and distressful book,well written with the truth about this young boys tragic and horrible abuse from the people who were meant to love and care for him,how he survived I will never know and I will never be able to understand how a mother can treat her own son like she did.I did however feel a little disappointed with the ending and was left wanting to know so much more about the rest of his life and how it turned out for him(as he would be the same age as I am now,both born in 1965 and in South London)I do believe that Paul was working on a sequel to this book but I haven't been able to track it down as yet, I'm also lead to believe that a new updated Ebook version of this book has become available in June 2021 after his abuser (named Trevor in the book...not his real name) was convicted of sexual abuse and attacks on young boys.I would recommend this book to family and friends on the understanding that they were aware of its contents before going ahead and reading it,altogether a very good read for me...since finishing this book I have found out that Paul is writing a new book which continues from where this book finished...Its called "Beyond The Hurt" and I'm looking forward to reading it.
