Has nobody ever seen a Dennis Potter or Berthold Brecht play???
Boat Story is derivative of both. I like them and I like Boat Story.
I particularly like that even sympathetic characters are mown down in cold blood, this is a play with no pity.
I think it's a laugh personally.

Am I the only person who likes this?
I find it very amusing.
Of course it's racist - all the colonies were. You can't sanitise history to conform to 21st century values.
The script has been criticized but it's a wry and witty parody of upper middle class communication.
Works for me!

I don't know what was worse, the script or the acting or maybe both were inextricably intertwined in their awfulness. The only redeeming feature was the presence of Juliet Stevenson, slumming it but making the best out of a bad job.
