I recently fell in love with this show.Until tonight, when I watched the Indigenous Peoples dance. Obviously, you either know little about Indigenous People, or you've been misled what you think you know. I read "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" in the eighth grade, probably during math or history (I was way far advanced in math, and knew History was a bunch of BS. I am NOT a Native Indigenous person, but have studied them since I was 7 or 8. Shame on you for not giving Indigenous People more respect and at the very LEAST, a callback. If you knew anything about Native Peoples, and ever went to a PowWow, you'd have recognized their qualities and experienced and level of greatness they showed. Do you even know that they had what is known as Fancy Dancer, Hoop Dancers, and did Ribbon Warrior Dancers. Learn true history, not in our books, but theirs: "Vine Deloria Jr., Dee Williams, and SO MUCH MORE! Pow Wows and Dancing has brought back a dying nation. These dancers travel all over America to compete for prize money. for some, It's all they have. Many Reservations are without running water, heat, ac, houses, food. Yeah, sure- it's great to see dancers representing Latino and African American. It's about time to let Indigenous Peoples represent THEIR Nations. At the very LEAST, they should have gotten a callback. Wake up,, judges. You haven't the SLITEST idea what a million dollars could do for these peoples. Shame on you. Educate yourself. Call them back. Learn about the many styles of PowWow dancing. Next time, give them a chance. This group MORE than deserved that, And, it keeps them off drugs.
