Bought this book because I enjoy poetry, and the first poem I read while in the book store made me happy. Unfortunately, by happenstance, it was perhaps the best one in the book. This is very good scholarly study of the subject, but I honestly didn’t get a lot of pleasure from reading it. Some of the poems made me think, but overall this was not an enjoyable reading experience for me.
