This movie is elementary. Nothing is left for interpretation nor nuance. The language and discussion between the women do not match their characters (uneducated and barely literate). There is no real plot, each character is one dimensional, at best. In the end, a group of women in a cult are abused by men you never see, and decide to leave.

I managed to watch all the episodes which is less a reflection of the show and more the dearth of quality available on Netflix these days. No point repeating the other reviews … “woke”, “cringeworthy”, and “Hollywood” all the words that come to mind for me as well.

I really wanted to like this. Not funny, nuanced, or interesting. Lots of woke reminders about the color of their skin , sexual identities, etc. etc. etc.
