Well firstly, most of the five star reviewers have either not seen Charlie or have no idea what that film was about... Charlie was magic! Dulquer in that film was no less than a magician! The lead lady was on point in every frame.. Though Maara is a very decent attempt by the crew, the truth is that Charlie is a film that cannot be remade.. The film is a mixture of few decent scenes and a lot of indifferent ones.. Especially the muddled (non linear) screenplay during the middle which makes it laggy for about 20 minutes... The changes in the storyline from the original are definitely worth appreciating but the rush and excitement that the original provided is definitely missing here... Overall this movie is a colourful, poetic love drama which is decently made and definitely worth a watch for those who haven't watched the Original.. Because Charlie is and will remain Charlie 💯
