So we were on a five-day long site visit and happened to trample upon a movie night with ' The Autopsy of Jane Doe' being the first choice to add spice to the once and for all night 🌃 As a perfectionist who doesn't easily get swayed by a piece of any form of aesthetic, I have to say that this specific work of art could almost capture me by the neck itself. Starting from the directorial work, handling of camera angles, setting of lighting, underlying soundtracks and background music plus the way they've captured the occurrence of incidents; I was honestly surprised. Having no unnecessary jumpscares or unrelated incidents, the movie was definitely a spectacular job completed. What I noticed the most is the way they had handled the delivery of dialogue, and the lines they spoke: the specific line; " So all these are people huh" caught me off guard at the moment I heard it. Apart from being labelled as just a horror movie, I would love to say that this is a cinematic masterpiece where we are taught to live life, love life, live, and simply to let live, and never betray the innocence or lose your innocence in the process of living your life amidst so many hardships and challenges.
At the ending of the movie- when I was reflecting as to " What the hell did I just finished watching", I realized that probably the deaths of the kitty and the Tildens that I thought to be very unfair at first, were understandable after reading a review about this. Plus the way the colour of the filters changed with Jane getting her powers back by torturing the Tildens was captivating; it had a variety of lighter cold blue filters going all red and finally getting darker and darker, resembling how Jane slowly got her revenge as well as her strength back, just like the colours of the rainbow going from Violet to Red, symbolising the intensity of the whole plot and Jane herself. Not to mention the colour change in her cornea; it was metaphorically insane.
So I'm gonna stop ranting about this horror labelled movie which caught me off guard, otherwise I won't stop typing. But I'll just tell this to the person who is gonna watch The Autopsy of Jane Doe for the first time as well as for the 141617th time; that, " Dude, feel, breathe, observe. " You are going to see so many things you don't normally see around- the things that go unnoticed.
Props to the one and only horror movie and the people who created it for managing to make me cry throughout the entirety!
