This is by far and away a complete and utter disregard for what made Halo, Halo. It isn't about making the UNSC bad guys, it's about an alien force threatening to make humanity itself extinct. If the writers had even tried to pay attention to what Halo was, or it's already established story they would have made a good series. Instead in the first two episodes they paint a picture that is anti-UNSC and pro-Insurrectionist. This is absurd when humanities very existence is threatened, and it was the UNSC who called a truce with the URF to fight the covenant.
