I am grateful that all the men and women who are brought home since 1975 are treated with public respect. Escorting my brother-in-law from Lubbock to Plainview, Texas, was the loneliest, most heart-breaking, thing I have ever done. No one paid attention. No one cared. Business as usual. I still grieve.
I am happy that the American public is now aware of the sacrifice of their sons and daughters who proudly wore the uniform of an American Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine and show that respect if they see a transfer.
ALL GAVE SOME. SOME GAVE ALL.
