Intellectually dishonest entertainment media posturing itself like a humorous but sober take on controversial leaders while praying the reader doesn't question their sources. From citing fraudulent historians like Timothy Snyder and painting figures like Mao and Stalin as just as bad if not worse than Hitler (seriously, what is going on here!?) I can't even give this book the benefit of the doubt calling it ignorant, but rather I feel it's outright manipulative. Then again, it's just another drop in the bucket of American liberal entertainment reinforcing poisonous biases in their audiences by presenting history and its consequences as all some big joke we can laugh at from a vantage point with no deeper historical analysis than the whitewashed history we as children were spoonfed in the American education system and larger propaganda machine. If you're hoping for a read that distills to the reader an understanding the material conditions that gave rise to people like Stalin, Mao, Putin, Hitler, etc, you will get nothing more than revisionist rubbish here. Gaslit nation really earns its namesake with this graphic novel. Do not pick this one up.
