When I was 12 years old and went a lot of middle school problems. I was terribly bullied by the popular girls in school and only made one friend. Also, I was learning how to roller skate for a year back then. When I found this book, I wanted to read ot really really bad. When I got to, I really enjoyed it so much. It was so fun and was mostly about dealing with social issues and having different insterests.
It was about a girl named Astrid who decided to join the roller derby camp one summer after seeing a roller derby with her mom and her friend, Nicole. She thought Nicole would joined her to the roller derby camp. Instead, she signed up for ballet, and Astrid was very upset. She was more upset that Nicole made a friend who was her enemy, Rachel. That made her so jealous that she thought Nicole became her worst friend although she was her only friend ever. But then, Nicole felt kinda guilty of leaving Astrid behind. Then, they became friends again. That story was amazing.
I had that same kind of problem that Astrid did. I had a fake friend at school. I got bullied. I kinda had a hard time learning how to roller skate. I can really relate to her so much that we could be friends.
