I was seriously disappointed by Episode 3 - Costa Rica. The first two episodes explored the local culture and exploring the healthy lifestyles and sustainable living in Iceland and France. Episode 3 was a drastic departure from this theme. It basically highlighted a village of ex-pats (read entitled white people) who were in essence exploiting the country’s resources. The episode did not highlight any locals, traditions or how the people or government of Costa Rica are working to live in harmony with nature. This episode really wasted a huge opportunity. It was a great representation of classic imperialism. Hopefully this is not lost on viewers.
And by the way - Zac Efron - please STOP calling women “chicks”. It demonstrates very clearly your lack of connection with anything outside your male, white experience.
