If you are a fan of mysteries and you’ve never read the novels by Louise Penny, you will love this series. If you’ve read the novels, this is what you’ll be missing: character driven plots, the warmth and coziness of the village, the wry humor. Admittedly, this is after viewing only 4 episodes, but, as a devoted Penny fan, I am disappointed. I will continue to watch, hoping characters and settings develop and recognizing the difficulty in developing beloved novels into screenplays. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
