I went in expecting a light-hearted comedy, but Materialists was nothing short of a disaster. The acting was painfully bad, wooden performances and zero chemistry between the leads made it hard to stay engaged. The script was slow, directionless, and absolutely devoid of wit or charm. For a film marketed as a comedy, there wasn’t a single moment that earned even a chuckle. Instead of clever satire or fun storytelling, what we got was a tedious, awkward mess that dragged from start to finish. Watching this movie felt like a chore, and by the end, I was just relieved it was over. Don’t waste your time. Materialists is easily one of the worst films I’ve seen this year.
