I love the show. However I can't believe the two poorly cast plaster men on either side of the fireplace at Stoke Hall were part of the original design. They look completely out of place. The wood carving on the mantle is gorgeous, while the statues are so poorly done the mold lines were not even cleaned off The similar fireplace at another building by the same designer had the same proportions and no statues. I am wondering why the rather jarring difference in theme and application was not addressed by the show.
