Follow up to a successful predecessor, based on a very successful book by a cult writer of the horror and the macabre, but still this sequel largely fails to come out on its own. Even though it boasts of a pretty impressive star cast and some decent performances with a few doses of laughter thrown in the midst of all the horror, gore and pools of blood, still the best draw of It chapter 2 still remains the kid 'losers' of Derry and not their grown up counterparts.
With a length almost stretching to 3 long hours, the die hard horror fans will be not entirely happy even though the movie has a cameo by the author himself, Mr. King. The best performance undoubtedly comes from 'IT', the very talented Bill Skarsgard, again donning the costume of Pennywise, who,is nothing but a clown with a scared beating heart that the losers literally crush to a pulp in order to defeat him.
Mr. King's oeuvre boasts of many other gems that have been translated on screen but it is probably always a wise decision not to compare the thrill and chill of reading a horror novel by yourself and not being able to sleep at night to that of a three hour long special effect induced Hollywood thriller (?)in a movie theatre and not be scared at all.
