I love BvS, but THIS is the perfect Batman movie ever made, and I can't wait to see more of it. The Batman felt like a complete return to formula for the franchise, which is something I've wanted for a long time.
The Dark Knight Trilogy stands on its own because of its great writing, but it doesn't feel like a Batman movie, especially stylistically. The Snyderverse's Batman is something I'll cherish forever, because Snyder's vision for him is a work of art, despite most not understanding it (as pretentious as that sounds). And then there's Matt Reeves and Battison. This is what Batman sounds, looks, and feels like, and I want it to stay that way. It felt like I was watching a live-action adaptation of the 2004 animated series of the same name, which is what I grew up on. My main gripes were the score's overreliance on brassy instruments, and Riddler not appearing enough. The highlight of the movie has to be Riddler, which was long overdue for a revival since what Jim Carrey did.
The inclusion of Ave Maria and it being the villain's motif, as well as Batman's being Nirvana's "Something in the Way" was absolutely genius, and as little as I like Michael Giacchino for his cacophonic take on film scores, this has to be his best work.
With confidence, I can say that The Batman is absolute cinema.
